Playtime, Shopping, and Smiles for All — Welcome to TOYLO PARK!

In May, as the early summer breeze starts to blow, people’s clothes become lighter. It’s also the season when families begin to go out more, especially during the long holidays.

When you finally have a day off, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could not only find activities your kids will enjoy, but also squeeze in some uplifting shopping and everyday errands for yourself?

In "A Spoonful of Enjoy for Your Life," we’re all about adding a dash of richness to your daily routine.

This time, we’re taking you on a special visit to TOYLO PARK at Ario Kitasuna, alongside Yamahata from Ito-Yokado’s School & Hobby Division — where family time becomes even more special.

Just like the Waterside! A Whole New Way to Enjoy Sandbox Play

Kids absolutely love playing in the sand. And while parents adore seeing their children's happy faces, there’s often a little voice in the back of their minds thinking about the extra clothes they'll need — and all that laundry afterwards.

The sandbox area* at TOYLO PARK, located on the third floor of Ito-Yokado Ario Kitasuna Store , offers a spacious indoor playground of around 60 tsubo (approximately 2,000 square feet).
It's a place that perfectly balances the children's desire to play outdoors and parents’ wish to avoid cleaning the mess afterwards.

*Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Last admission at 7:00 PM)
*Admission Fees: 600 yen per 30 minutes on weekdays, 800 yen per 30 minutes on weekends and holidays. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. (Information as of April 2025)

Right at the entrance to the sandbox area, you’ll find a "fluidized bed" — a feature that anyone, regardless of age, can enjoy. The sand bubbles up, creating an enchanting, water-like effect.

Children can sink balls into the surface or try to "fish" toys, making it feel as though they’re playing by the water — even though they’re in a sandbox.
It’s a magical new experience that’s both fascinating and fun.

When a staff member switches it off, the "fluidized bed" suddenly turns into a firm, solid surface.
Don’t miss the fun of this surprising transformation!

Another highlight you won't want to miss is Japan’s first-ever "fluidized bed slide."
At first glance, it looks like a regular slide, but...

*Recommended for children aged 6 and above.

When you reach the bottom, there’s a gently shifting surface of the fluidized sand, just like landing on water. The soft, sinking feeling under your feet is full of wonder and delight, making kids want to slide again and again.

The secret behind this mesmerizing playground is the function of "air". Air is pumped up from underneath the sandbox, causing the fine sand to float lightly and form almost like liquid.

alt=

When the kids need a short break from sliding, there’s still plenty of traditional sandbox fun waiting for them! The area is filled with toys that kids can play alone or with friends.

alt=

Plus, there's an area where you can blow the sand off your clothes and feet before leaving — no need to worry about cleaning off the sand while playing.

Even after a long day of fun in the sandbox, TOYLO PARK has many more exciting tricks for children.

"So Many Play Areas!" — Surprises Around Every Corner!

TOYLO PARK Ario Kitasuna was created by blending the best parts of a toy store with the spirit of a playground — making it the ultimate place in Japan where kids can actually play with the toys they see! There are so many hands-on areas throughout the store, so be sure to take your time and enjoy exploring!

alt=

Strolling through the aisles, you’ll find countless spots where kids will suddenly stop in their tracks, excited to play.
From a Plarail station where you can build your own tracks, Licca doll corner, to crane games — there are about 300 different play areas scattered across the store!
It truly feels like the entire store has been transformed into one big playground.

On weekends, the excitement grows even bigger with special events like character shows and craft workshops.
Every visit holds a new surprise — you’ll find yourself wondering, "What’s happening today?" with a sense of anticipation.

And if your kids still aren't ready for the fun to end, don't worry — there's an even more futuristic play zone waiting just ahead!

An Exciting Blend of Analog and Digital Fun

At TOYLO PARK powered by Little Planet*, you’ll discover a world where classic childhood activities like coloring and jump rope are reimagined with cutting-edge digital technology, creating a "futuristic playground."

You can watch your drawings come to life on a giant screen, dodge the swishing tails of digital dinosaurs by jumping, or dive into a sparkling, interactive ball pit — irresistible adventures are waiting at every turn!

*Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM  (Last admission at 7:00 PM)
*Admission Fees: 700 yen per 30 minutes on weekdays, 960 yen per 30 minutes on weekends and holidays. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. (Information as of April 2025)

What makes this area so special is how familiar childhood games are transformed into something new and exciting.
Even adults might find themselves getting in on the fun, moving and playing alongside the kids.
It could also be a wonderful opportunity to share stories about how you used to play when you were little — creating even more precious memories together.

Turning Everyday Shopping into Special Family Time

alt=

After an action-packed day of play, take a well-deserved break at the food court on the first floor. Chat about the soft, bouncy feel of the fluidized bed, or the drawings that came to life on the screen. Maybe your child will say, "Next time, I want to try that too!" or "Let’s bring some friends along!" Spending a little time reflecting on the day’s adventures is just another way to savor the fun.

Ario Kitasuna is also a great place for adults to run errands.

If you need to pick up groceries for dinner, head to the supermarket floor, where YORK DELI offers several seasonal side dishes to add a colorful touch to your table.

Also, take the opportunity to browse the wide selection of clothing shops spread across the first to third floors, offering everything from casual styles to elegant pieces.
It might also be a good time to grab a new folding umbrella before the rainy season arrives!

Blending errands with quality time spent with your child.
There must be places, not only in Ario Kitasuna, but also in your neighborhood where you can spend your time in such a way. Imagine heading home with shopping bags in hand and a big, satisfied smile on your child’s face.

" A Spoonful of Enjoy for Your Life" will continue to bring you little inspirations to gently enrich your daily moments.

Stay tuned for more to come!
