Message from New CEO Steve Dacus | To Seven & i Group Employees
We are pleased to share a message from the newly appointed CEO, Stephen Hayes Dacus.
His appointment, along with the reappointment of other officers of Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd., was confirmed at the 20th Annual Shareholders’ Meeting held on May 27, 2025.
Hello, everyone, my name is Steve.
My name is Stephen Hayes Dacus, newly appointed as CEO of Seven & i Holdings. I look forward to having opportunities to communicate with everyone and please feel free to call me Steve when we interact.
Thus far, I have been involved in the management of various corporations, particularly in the retail industry. From my experience, one thing I feel strongly is that people are everything.
Firstly, engaging others with heartfelt compassion and humility is important to creating customer satisfaction. Our greatest strength will be to embody the trust and sincerity at the core of our Corporate Creed, and so I want every member of the Group to continue to embrace this spirit in your daily actions.
Another one of our strengths is the innovation derived from the efforts of our employees on the front lines of customer service . My father was a 7-Eleven franchise owner in America. I personally spent time working the shop’s register, so I understand first-hand just how much shop employees diligently engage with customers, make minor improvements, and improvise to provide a better experience. I believe the innovation we achieve in new products and services is the culmination of daily efforts and discoveries that occur in the retail space.
Our ability to refine and improve on these strengths is what separates us from the competition. This is part of our unique corporate culture that leads to sustainable growth.
However, achieving growth going forward will require that we maintain our humility, yet be aggressive. I want everyone to embrace a leadership mindset in making decisions and acting quickly.
I too will work aggressively to provide the environment and support necessary for everyone to take on new challenges.
